Madeleine Weston Lewis
Madeleine began her creative career in Chelsea, London in the early 1970’s, as a fine art printmaker pulling psychedelic silkscreens for the Grateful Dead. But, like many young British artists before her, she soon followed her star to the U.S. It was love at first sight, as the taxi sped over the Queensboro Bridge from JFK airport and she saw New York City. Quickly connecting with the lively art scene she became an established member of the printmaking community as she pulled mezzotint, gravure and wood engraving editions for many leading artists. In the 1980's she opened a gallery in the heart of the vibrant East Village, showing cutting edge work by emerging artists.

Recently, Madeleine embarked on a journey into the sculptural world, influenced by her early childhood years playing with clay in her father’s studio. Today, she painstakingly carves miniature architectural and organic forms inspired by the Romanesque architecture and ancient vineyards of the Languedoc-Roussillon surrounding the family home. Her many years of travel to Japan have inspired a further series of works with classic asian aesthetics.

In 2001, Madeleine Weston Lewis Company was formed making unique & limited edition jewelry, fashion and tableware accessories in sterling silver and gold.

Madeleine lives and works in a loft in downtown Manhattan with her artist husband. They can be caught running in all 5 boros during the New York City Marathon.
